Actors’ silent protest a mockery: T Rajendar
Actor-politician T Rajendar came down harshly on the silent protest held by the Nadigar Sangam for the formation of Cauvery Management Board recently.

He said that the protest would never bring solutions to the Cauvery issue and the actors conducted the silent protest just to please someone (read Rajinikanth).
Responding to a query about the Nadigar Sangam protest, Rajendar said, the actors had organised the protest in silence as they feared that the Redfort (Centre) and St George Fort
(state government) would show their wrath.
“If there is a protest, the participants should come out with their views. What is use of a hunger strike by being mute? A sword should fight, a knife should cut and a breeze should gently glide and so a protest should be loud enough to reach those who need to hear,” Rajendar said.
They have not properly staged a hunger strike. They took food at home by 9 am and eat at 1 pm. “We are to speak. Someone had ordered that he will not speak out at the protest venue and so everyone supported him. This is mere a mockery,” he added.
