Crude bombs hurled at DMK functionary’s office

The incident happened around 11 am. Shanmugavel, a DMK cadre, who was inside the office of Chengis Khan, a former councillor, heard an unusual sound outside and when he stepped out to check he saw a man in blue shirt hurling crude bombs at the office. 

Fortunately, none of them exploded. Though Shanmugavel chased and tried to catch the culprit, the man escaped in a bike on which another person was waiting at some distance from the office.  

On information, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad personnel rushed to the spot and took possession of the bombs. 

Tallakulam police have registered a case and are investigating.
