Couple shares unique ‘friendship’ with crows
Crows as anyone knows are not so easy to get friendly with. And so, it comes as a surprise to know that a couple running a tea shop at Sanankuppam near Ambur not only feed them daily, but that two birds take the food right from their hands.

Om Shakthi Samuel (58) and wife Jaisy run their outlet in the street behind the Pappaara Gangaiammal temple. As a nearby Neem tree plays host to numerous crows, the couple started keeping food out for their feathered friends on a regular basis some three years ago.
“We started feeding the crows with left overs. We never expected them to become so friendly,” says Samuel. Over time, two birds became so friendly that they even started pecking at the food from the hands held out by the couple.
Visitors to the stall have expressed their surprise at this sight, so much so it has become something of a local sensation. The two crows now come for their food thrice a day.
This ‘friendly’ relationship with the crows has even led to the latter climbing onto the couple’s shoulders and head to take the food.
