NIT Tiruchy innovation club adjudged best
The Innovation Club at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchy, has been adjudged the best from among 70 institutions across the country that participated in the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi recently.

President Ram Nath Kovind handed over the award to the NIT student’s representative. The presentation and the technological innovations of NIT, Tiruchy, were recognised as the best among the participating institutions and the college was awarded with the Best Innovation Club Trophy on March 21.Â
The NIT’s presentation comprised 14 projects which were innovations at the grassroots level, three projects that won ‘Buzz in the Campus’ — an initiative to make NIT a smart campus, innovations which grabbed the spotlight at ‘Veetuku Oru Vigyaani’ aimed at recognising and rewarding grassroots level and institutional achievers at the school level and events conducted by HumaNITTy, a student-driven social outreach organisation.Â
Daksh Khanter, president of the Students’ Council of NIT Tiruchy, received the award from the President. On Friday, Dr Mini Shaji Thomas, director, NIT Tiruchy, congratulated Khanter, A Anand and S Rajaramanan who were helped the institute achieve the prestigious award.Â
The FINE is a week-long annual event hosted by the President at the Rashtrapati Bhavan each year in March. It is organised by the President’s Secretariat and is assisted by the National Innovation Foundation, an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology. The NIT, Tiruchy, has been participating in the event since its inception. Â
