AIADMK cheating people, charges Stalin
Leader of Opposition MK Stalin has accused the ruling AIADMK of cheating the state people on the Cauvery issue.

Recalling Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam’s request to the Opposition in the Assembly to maintain patience till March 29, Stalin referred to Prime Minister’s office repeatedly turning down Tamil Nadu’s requests to grant an audience to discuss the Cauvery Management Board issue and said the “horse trading benami” government has surrendered itself to the ruling BJP at the Centre. “They (ruling AIADMK) are cheating the people of Tamil Nadu because there is definitely no solution for the issue. They do not care for public welfare,” Stalin remarked, talking to reporters before leaving the city for Erode to lead the two-day zonal conference of the DMK in his father’s absence.
When asked about the possibility of party chief Karunanidhi attending the zonal conference, Stalin said there is no chance as of now. On AIADMK’s charge that the case filed by the DMK has delayed local body elections, Stalin called it an outright lie and said the DMK has approached the court only to conduct elections and the state government and State Election Commission have not obeyed the orders of the Madras High Court as they have no intention to hold the civic polls. “To cover it up, they are blaming the DMK,” Stalin added.
