Headmaster pricks student with syringe
The headmaster of a Panchayat Union Elementary School near Iman Kulathur here recently injured a girl student by pricking her with a disposable syringe that she had picked up for playing.

The girl had found the syringe near her school after a nearby veterinary hospital had discarded it two days ago. Headmaster John Peter, who sought to punish the girl, had allegedly pricked her shoulder with the needle.Â
Though her parents sought to lodge a police complaint against Peter, it was prevented by friends and neighbours.Â
V Tamil Selvan, District Elementary Education Officer, said the Education Department has sought an explanation from Peter regarding the incident.
