The actor-turned-politician addressed fans and members of his organisation via video message on Wednesday at Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, where he clarified that consultations were underway to appoint the Chennai representatives. Office-bearers for Namakkal and Salem districts were the latest to be chosen after discussions with the fans and administrators of the Mandram, signed off by Rajinikanth.

In his video message, the actor-turned-politician urged his fans to stay united during this period and that their intent should be to bring about a huge political change in Tamil Nadu. He added that members shouldn’t be jealous of those in the party who get posts, and that they should present a unified front. “We can achieve anything if we remain disciplined and honest. We must work so that Tamil Nadu is transformed and becomes an example for the rest of the country,” said Rajinikanth.

Meanwhile, there has been much speculation that the actor’s upcoming film Kaala’s release could be postponed due to two reasons – the ongoing strike in the Tamil film industry as well as key events and commitments planned in Rajinikanth’s political campaign. It was originally announced that the film would release on April 27, with the film having political undertones to enhance his new avatar.

Lyca has issued a statement saying that there will not be any delay in the release, confirming it will occur as originally planned. “Lyca Productions has not conveyed anything to anyone regarding Kaala release date. We are not responsible for any statements arising on release date speculations,” the production house clarified in the statement.
