Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam propaganda secretary Thangathamizhselvan lashed out at the ministers including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and said they lacked the civility even to condole the death of Natarajan.

Going a step further, Sasikala’s younger brother VK Dhivakaran described Palaniswami, Panneerselvam and other ministers as ‘betrayers’ and asserted that his family would face such betrayal with the help of relatives and friends.

He said Natarajan was mentally affected after the problems in the AIADMK and those who knew politics know Natarajan’s sacrifice to protect the AIADMK after the demise of MGR. Dhivakaran said, “About 75 persons had become ministers in the AIADMK government due to Natarajan, but those who had refused to condole his death did not know how to differentiate from politics and personal tragedy.”

However, Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar reacting to the criticism, said, “We did not pay homage to Natarajan, since we do not have any connection with him. How can we go to the funeral ceremony of a family, which was banished by our leader Amma? How can the family members expect us to pay homage?”

Naam Tamilar leader P Seeman too joined the issue and said, “It is a shame that we are being ruled by people who do not have sympathy. More than incivility, the refusal to condole is atrocious,” he added. Indian Union Muslim League national president KM Khader Mohideen too shared similar sentiments.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Natarajan were buried on Wednesday at 6.45 pm in his native village of Vilar, opposite to the Mullivaikkal Mutram. Earlier, his body was taken in a procession from his house at Arulananda Nagar in Thanjavur city. Large number of supporters participated. TTV Dhinakaran, nephew of Sasikala, and Dhivakaran accompanied the mortal remains.
