Nilgiri Mountain Railways heritage run from March 24
The Southern Railway will operate ‘Heritage Steam Voyage’ summer special train services on the Nilgiri Mountain Railways (NMR) section from March 31 to April 24. An official release on Tuesdays said the train would be operated on Saturdays and Sundays, numbering 52 (26+26) services. The summer special train will have two first class coaches and one 2nd class chair cars.

The one way first class fare structure for the trains would be Rs 1,100 for adults and Rs 650 for children (5 to 12 years), while it would be Rs 800 and Rs 500 respectively for one-way second class travel.
Advance bookings for the trains would start from 8 am on Wednesday.
The fully reserved train will start from Mettupalayam at 9.10 am and reach Coonoor at 12.30 pm with halts at Kallar and Hillgrove. In the return direction, it will leave Coonoor at 1.30 pm and reach Mettupalayam at 4.20 pm.
