The sitting, is most likely to adopt resolutions urging the Centre to set up the Cauvery Management Board(CMB), and the Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee(CWRC). The meeting is likely to be held in the afternoon of Thursday, or on Friday, and the time would be decided by the Business Advisory Committee, which would meet after the Budget session.

The session will see the debate of leaders of Legislature Parties, including the Leader of Opposition MK Stalin, and a reply from Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

The sitting will conclude with resolutions urging the Centre, and all the resolutions are likely to be adopted unanimously by the House. Though the issue can be raised during the session itself either through ‘Call Attention Motion’, or during the ‘Zero Hour’, the state is firm on having a special sitting to get more traction for the resolutions adopted.

The move would also placate Principal Opposition DMK, and its allies in the House that had been demanding that the special session of the Assembly should be convened. The full budget presented by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam would be his maiden budget since his re-designation as Deputy CM and his eighth while holding Finance portfolio.
