Actress Gautami on Thursday said actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan can’t fill the political vacuum in the state, caused by the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

“Entering politics suddenly and replacing the late leader is not possible. Jayalalithaa’s political growth did not take place in a day. It took several years for her to earn a permanent place in people’s hearts,” said Gautami who spoke to mediapersons after paying homage at Jayalalithaa’s burial place in Marina on International Women’s Day.
“She was an iron lady in politics and was influential among women. She dedicated herself to serve the public and was able to earn that space. Regardless of who is aspiring to achieve that, it is not a feat that can happen overnight,” Gautami added.
The actress also revealed that she is planning to take up social work for the welfare of women and children and had come to seek Jayalalithaa’s blessings before that.
She also expressed anguish at the death of a pregnant woman Usha in Tiruchy due to the atrocity of a policeman. Earlier in the day, Gautami also released a music video that celebrates the bond between mother and daughter titled ‘Magale.’ The actress has been in the news for her series of blog posts in which she alleges that her former partner Kamal Haasan’s production company owes her unpaid dues.
