Student attacks classmate with knife in Nellai

According to police sources, the incident happened in the morning when the victim, studying in the Kalakad Government Higher Secondary School and the class representative, questioned the accused for coming late to class. 

The attacker, who allegedly harboured ill feelings towards the class representative for informing the teacher about his activities in the class, argued with him and when it became heated, the accused tried to stab the class representative, though he attempted to prevent it. In the incident, the class representative sustained cut injuries in his hands. He was rushed to the Nanguneri GH for treatment where his condition was said to be stable. 

In the meantime, the accused absconded from the spot, but was arrested later. An attempt murder case was filed by Kalakad Police and he was lodged in a home for children.
