2 dead as truck hits bike, fuel tank explodes
In a freak accident, two persons were killed after a lorry which hit their bike dragged it towards the median on the road and the bike and a portion of the lorry caught fire after the fuel tank of the two-wheeler exploded.

R Saravanan (45) of Nagappudayanpatti went to Kurumpoondi in search of a bride for his son. He was accompanied by V Dhavamani (65) of Chennampatti. After visiting Kurumpoondi, they were returning to their village on a bike. After having breakfast in a hotel near the Munnayamppatti road, when they entered the main road, the lorry hit their vehicle and dragged it towards the median.Â
In the impact, the duo fell on the road and died instantaneously. The bike’s fuel tank exploded and the tyres and a part of the lorry caught fire.
