According to sources, the deceased student, identified as Krishna Prasad, was found hanging in his room and his body was recovered in the morning. His family though raise suspicion in his death. They said that Krishna Prasad was in a depressed state for not knowing Hindi.Â
After the information of the death of Krishna Prasad reached his family members, they were surrounded by grief. Immediately his father, Ramu alias Ramasamy, a priest in Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram, rushed to Chandigarh to receive his son's body.Â
Kumar, uncle of Krishna Prasad, who is also a priest in Ramanathaswamy Temple, said that Krishna Prasad was studious and used to give respect to all the family members. When Krishna Prasad talked with him a fortnight ago he was happy about his studies but worried about the fact that he could not understand Hindi.Â
Not knowing Hindi would have pushed him under depression and it would have forced him to commit suicide. However Krishna Prasad did not come out of his room for four days and on Monday morning his friends grew suspicious and broke open the door of his room only to find him hanging. Immediately his body was rushed to GH for post mortem said Kumar.Â
However his school friends said that Krishna Prasad was a determined youth and the news that he committed suicide is unbelievable. One of his friends, Arvind, said that when people said that he could not join MBBS he tried hard and joined MBBS. He also came as a college topper and was determined to join PGIMER. The news of his suicide is highly unbelievable, said Arvind.Â
On hearing the news of death of Krishna Prasad, many of his friends had gathered before his house in Rameswaram. Krishna Prasad joins the list of two Tamil Nadu Doctor students, Saravanan and Sarath Babu, who had died in New Delhi under suspicious circumstances.
