Thangamani accepts 2.57 factor hike, announces wage, work load settlement

The Minister, who made the announcement in the presence of Tangedco workers’ unions, said the workers’ salary would go up by Rs 3,175 for lower grade staff and Rs 7,775 for higher grade workers. The hike included house rent and medical allowances. For the officials, the increase in salary would be from Rs 5,800 to Rs 27,375 depending on their grade. The daily wages of contract workers would be increased from Rs 250 to Rs 380. 

The training period will be reduced to three months, he added. The Minister also came out with a work load settlement and announced that 2,654 new posts to reduce the work burden and the fourth Saturday of every month would be a holiday for Tangedco workers. To compensate it, 15 minutes would be added to the working hours every day.
