All districts to get animal ambulances
While the government had, in 2016, under the aegis of the TamilNadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), launch edanimal ambulances in five districts in Tamil Nadu, it had asked the Animal Husbandry Department to take up theproject to launch the same in the remaining 27 districts.

Stating that it would be implementedwithin the year, sources from the AnimalHusbandry department said that it is beingdone at a cost of Rs 18.93 crore.
An official from the department said, “This involves a number of procedures and planning and hence has been taking time. We have requested the government to floor the tender for the project to be taken off inthe remaining 27 districts.”
He added that owing to the processes involved, it has not been decided as to whether it will be done in phases orall at once.
