State to provide free goats to 7,037 beneficiaries
The state government will provide free milch animals to 950 beneficiaries at an estimated cost of Rs 3.84 crore, HR & CE minister Sevoor S Ramachandran has said. Another 7,037 beneficiaries would be provided with free goats at a cost of Rs 9.12 crore.

Distributing free milch animals, sheep and goats to beneficiaries at Kamakoorpalayam at West Arni panchayat union in Tiruvannamalai district, the minister on Monday said, “The efforts of the AIADMK government to raise the living standards of people, especially those living in villages and those below the poverty line has won all round appreciation.”
The AIADMK government, between 2011 and 2016, had distributed 3650 milch animals costing Rs 12.64 lakhs and 35, 648 goats estimated at Rs 45.82 crore, the minister said.
Last year, the government had distributed 350 milk cows costing Rs 1.41 crore and 14, 959 goats costing Rs 1.94 crore. Tiruvannamalai collector KS Kandasamy and Cheyyar MLA Doosi K Mohan were present during the function.
