CM Palaniswami positive of CMB formation within 6 weeks
Expressing hope that the Union government would form the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) within six weeks, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said in Salem on Sunday that the state government would also stress the Centre for the same.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, the Chief Minister said, “I believe the Union government will implement the Supreme Court verdict to form the CMB within six weeks.”
“The Supreme Court has given its final verdict and it can’t be appealed for 15 years. The state government would hence take opinion from legal experts on this issue. I believe the Union government will implement the SC order,” he added.
Earlier, while speaking at a function, the Chief Minister said that the AIADMK government has belied the expectations of the opposition parties that it will fall anytime. He said that the state government has been implementing all schemes announced by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa. Participating in various programmes, Palaniswami inaugurated projects worth Rs 160 crore, including works for relaying of roads in areas where the underground drainage project had already been completed at Rs 94.39 crore at Duraisamy Nagar in Pallapatti area.The CM said that Smart City projects worth Rs 1,908.60 crore have been undertaken in Salem district. Funds have been sanctioned to implement solid waste management, build multi parking facility, develop VOC Market, old bus stand and Nehru Stadium in Salem.
