Written test for Aavin aspirants on the cards
Nearly 2000 applicants for the 30 odd posts of workers, technical staff and supervisors (Grade II) in the Vellore Cooperative Milk Producers Union (Aavin) are keeping their fingers crossed as the union has not carried forward the selection process, even after five months, due to differences between elected cooperative heads and the department, sources revealed.

Meanwhile, for the first time, it has been decided to hold a written test for applicants, in a bid to ensure qualified candidates are selected, as cooperative milk union heads are known for appointing persons of their choice to various posts, said sources. The aim is to do away with malpractices. In Vellore, officials are wary of completing the process immediately as a previous employee was found to have submitted fake documents regarding his education. Speaking on condition of anonymity, an official said, “We have been orally instructed to postpone appointing staff immediately. The plan is to have the written test in May so that vacancies are filled after the terms of the present union heads end.”
