Plea to register cheating complaint against Deepa
The Madras High Court has been moved seeking to register a complaint against former chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s niece J Deepa and her driver AV Raja for cheating N Ramachandran, former district secretary of MGR Amma Deepa Peravai to the tune of Rs 1.12 crore.

Justice MS Ramesh adjourned the matter for hearing to February 15 after directing the public prosecutor to get instructions. Ramachandran had contended that Deepa through her driver had approached him and obtained Rs 1.12 crore.
He noted that when he demanded the loaned money back, they threatened him with anti-socials. He said his complaint to the Commissioner of Police made on January 11, 2018, was forwarded to the Inspector, CCB. But, owing to her political background, the police are yet to register a complaint, he added.
