The injured headmaster was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment while the boys escaped. This is the second instance in two years that the headmaster was stabbed by a Class 11 student. Police said that the incident took place when headmaster K Babu (56) reprimanded the students and threatened to inform their parents about their activities.

“When the students were threatened, one of the boys whipped out a knife and stabbed Babu in the stomach, arms and shoulder after which all four fled,” a police official said. But his cries alerted teachers and other school staff who found Babu lying on the floor, wounded. They then rushed him to a private hospital in Vellore where he is undergoing treatment.

The police said that the boys could have been pulled up for watching porn but could not confirm it. The boy was arrested on Monday evening from a bus stand. This, however, is not the first time that the headmaster was attacked by a student. Babu is known to be very strict regarding both studies and students behaviour.

In November 2016, another Class 11 student attacked Babu with a knife after he was pulled up for not concentrating on his studies, police said.
