From March, NEET classes a daily affair
The state government has decided to increase the frequency of classes for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which were so far held only on weekends and holidays, to everyday beginning from March after public exams concluded.

Sources said the decision was taken by the government as increased frequency would help hone the skills of students better.
“At present, as many as 100 centres are functional out of 412 proposed training centres across the state. All the centres will begin offering classes from next week onwards. More than 22,000 students have expressed interest in state-sponsored coaching classes. Of these, about 10,000 students have been covered in the existing centres, while the rest will be accommodated in the soonto-open centres,” the official said.
It is also pertinent to note that the footfalls in the centres had dropped as the public examination draws near. The number of students attending the classes is expected to peak after the public examination gets over. The officials claimed that they had enough strength to handle the entire strength of students who signed up for the coaching classes.
Sources said that the government has decided to handpick top performing students from the training and provide them a month-long intensive training ahead of NEET. “We have decided to choose as many as 2,000 students from across the state. They would attend the intensive module of NEET coaching,” the official said. The official also observed that as many as 3,000 teachers from state have already been trained on NEET coaching.
School education minister KA Sengottaiyan had announced that the intensive coaching schedule was being planned in such a way that it follows the board exams schedule that concludes by April 15. The selected students were expected to be accommodated in medical colleges across the state for the intensive training.
