Rajini announces Nellai office-bearers

In a statement released by VM Sudhakar, administrator of the Mandram, gratitude was expressed to members of the Rajini Makkal Mandram in Tirunelveli for their active participation and suggestions given during the consultative meeting held with the representatives of the headquarters – and that Rajinikanth had consented to make the appointments.

However, the statement also added that the actor-turned-politician has decided to hold internal elections at a later date, to democratically elect committee members and office bearers of the Mandram at all levels – from villages to district. The note concludes with a request to all the Mandram members to extend the fullest cooperation and support to the office-bearers appointed herein. For Tirunelveli, S. Banusekar has been appointed the District Honorary Secretary, while Dr. K Selvakumar is the District Secretary.

Bavani Kumanan is in charge of the District Women’s Wing, and KAN Thayappan takes charge as the District Youth Wing Secretary, among other appointments.

A source says that Rajinikanth’s team is visiting different cities every day, trying to gauge his reach and appeal – and also ensure that the people’s needs are heard, to garner adequate support. It is said that office-bearers from other districts, including Chennai, are to be announced shortly as well.
