Woman kills 2 sons, self with poison injection

Neighbours found Srija, 32, and her two sons, Praneeth, 6, and Sathish, 4, from Sambath Nagar in Erode district battling for life in an unconscious state and rushed them to the hospital on Monday morning. However, all of them died before reaching the hospital.  

Inquiries revealed that Srija’s husband Raveendran, a car mechanic, passed away three years ago due to health issues. Srija then joined as a staff in the reception unit of a private hospital. “Here, she developed an affair with an unmarried man. Meanwhile, the youth severed the relationship as he got engaged to another woman. This resulted in a verbal duel between them,” police said. 

Upset over the turn of events, Srija injected poison on herself and her two children. The Veerappansathiram police have registered a case and further inquiries are on.
