Insult to protesting public: Thirumavalavan

Addressing reporters at Thoothukudi airport, Thirumavalavan said that the speech of Ramachandra Jeeyar that he would take soda bottle was completely shocking and no one expected that a person of his stature would utter such words. 

Defending poet Vairamuthu, he said that the lyricist need not tender an apology for his statement on Andal.

When asked about the announcement on reduction in bus ticket price by the state government, he replied that reduction of just one rupee and one paise is an insult to the people who had protested against the hike in bus tickets and so the government should completely roll back the increase in the bus fare. 

He further said that his party would work with the DMK and go along with the decisions taken by the DMK regarding the road roko already announced by them against the ticket price hike, on Monday.
