Rajini, Kamal to co-star in political blockbuster?
On Wednesday, Rajinikanth raised a speculation that there could yet be a chance he could ally with Kamal Haasan politically.

Speaking to reporters at Poes Garden, Rajini answered, “Only time will tell,” when they asked him if such an alliance could happen in the future.
Rajinikanth also expressed confidence that his party would take shape in time to contest the Assembly elections even if it were to be held as early as six months from now. He also said that the current political parties have upheld the ideas of MGR only to a certain extent.
Later in the day (being the occasion of MGR’s 101st birth anniversary), Rajinikanth shared the stage with Kamal at the launch of the animation film Kizhakku Africavil Raju, which is a long-shelved sequel to the MGR-blockbuster Ulagam Suttrum Vaaliban.
The film, which will see MGR re-imagined through motion-capture, could not be completed earlier, due to the AIADMK founder being fully immersed in his political career.
Both Rajinikanth and Kamal had earlier ascended the stage together at the Natchathira Vizha 2018 fund-raiser event in Malaysia, earlier this month. While that event saw Rajinkanth share amusing stories of his decades-long friendship with Kamal, the stars on Wednesday confined themselves to chatting intently together in their seats and then performing the ceremonial ‘first clap’ to launch the film officially. Speaking to journalists after the event, Rajini also welcomed Kamal’s political entry, and wished him well.
Meanwhile, Kamal announced that he would launch his political party on February 21 and unveil his policies from his native district of Ramanathapuram. Reacting to the announcement Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said that it would not impact the ruling party.
