Enrolling Rajini fans via digital mode

The Facebook group founded by Karthik, a fan, who goes by the name Karthik O Positive on social media, has around 4 lakh followers. The members of this group are taking ‘digital trips’ by going to the interior regions of Tamil Nadu in their digital van to enrol people. 

“Villages are the backbone of our economy and most of them in Tamil Nadu do not have access to the internet and other communication facilities, hence RBSI decided to kick off the campaign in its modernised digital van, equipped with laptops and Wi-Fi facilities,” said Karthik in a Facebook post.       

The group started their journey with Karur and had already posted details about the visit on its Facebook page and the information was also disseminate through word of mouth. 

“The response was amazing as people from across all age groups came forward to register. We made sure everyone carried their voter ID and our team members verified the documents to avoid any duplication. 

We started early in the in the morning and the registration process went on till 7 pm. We covered 10 villages and enrolled 15,000 people,” says Sudarshan Karthik, another member of RBSI. 

“Members of RBSI have been working consistently on various social issues. Members worked round the clock during the 2015 flood and Cyclone Vardah. 

We have also done other social activities like buttermilk distribution during summer, distribution of free helmets for construction workers, etc,” he adds. The members plan to cover the rest of the state and enrol as many people as possible. 

“We are yet to decide on the next stop. However, we will post all the details on our Facebook page,” said Karthik.
