Jaya’s family doctor deposes before panel
Jayalalithaa’s family doctor Sivakumar deposed before the enquiry committee on Monday. He was called by the panel formed to probe the death of the former chief minister to reveal details of the treatment given to her during the period of illness.

Talking to the press, Dr Sivakumar said that he could not reveal any details, but had submitted information about the treatment to the commission. “I met the Justice by 10.30 am and spoke to him extensively on the time spent treating Jayalalithaa. I have been asked to meet him again on Jan 22 – after that I can speak freely to you.”
Justice A Arumughaswamy, who heads the commission, spoke to the reporters at the Coimbatore Airport and said that the enquiry was coming along well. “I’m expecting to summon quite a few more people in relation to the probe. My hope is that Sasikala also will depose shortly,” he added. Meanwhile, in response to her summoning by the Justice, Sasikala has sent questions about the functioning of the commission and its standing, etc. The commission has said that it is willing to disclose the answers to those questions with transparency.
