Government's arrogance led to loss of lives, says TTV Dinakaran
It is sheer arrogance of the government which had led to loss of lives not just during the transport workers strike, but on several occasions, including the celebrations of MGR birth centenary, said RK Nagar MLA TTV Dinakaran on Sunday. “Shedding its arrogant attitude, the state should initiate talks to bring an end to the stir,” he said.

“The government’s continuation itself is an accident. It would also fall soon,” Dinakaran rued.
The maximum revision sought by the transport workers is capped to a few thousands. When they (ruling dispensation) could disburse Rs 6,000 per vote in RK Nagar constituency, they should bear in mind that these staff are also voters, he noted.
On the government threatening transport workers, Dinakaran pointed out that the state was going overboard and is enthused by the legal protection they could enjoy because of the High Court’s stand
on the stir.
As regards conversion of Poes Garden into a memorial, Dinakaran said that the heirs, if any, could register their objection and that he had no role.
Dinakaran reiterated that Kamal Haasan’s remarks on the RK Nagar electorate were derogatory. “I might move on, and I have already made an appeal not to blow this issue out of proportion. I will also tell the people of RK Nagar to let this pass as and when I meet them,” he said.
Dinakaran will attend his first Assembly session on Monday which begins with the Governor’s customary New Year address.
