Son beats father to death

It is said, the victim Senkamalam, a 60-year old farmer was beaten to death after he allegedly refused to give his elder son Selvaraj a share in his farm land. Senkamalam and his younger son Chandrahassan were undertaking farming works in the land Velipiringiyam near Ariyalur. 

His elder son Selvaraj was working as a labourer. It is said that Selvaraj’s wife Mangayarkarasi was unhappy that Senkamalam was not interested in sharing the property among his children. Mangayarkarasi had requested his father-in-law to give her husband a share of the land to do farming, which Senkamalam allegedly refused. Mangayarkarasi went and complained to her husband.

Infuriated, Selvaraj went to Chandrahaasan’s house on Friday night and argued with him. In a fit of rage, Selvaraj picked up a wooden log nearby and assaulted his father repeatedly in which he suffered severe injuries. Soon he was rushed to the Ariyalur GH where he succumbed on
