Burglars lock up 5 houses to loot valuables from one
Burglars who wanted to loot a specific house in Gudiyattam town, first locked up five other neighbouring houses in the same street to prevent the neighbours raising an alarm or coming to the aid of the victims on Tuesday night.

They planned to loot the house of Venketesan, a fair price shop employee. When Venketesan left the house with his family to visit relatives, they proceeded to loot Venketesan’s house by breaking open the front door lock with a crowbar.Â
They then broke open the cupboard in the bedroom and decamped with 10 sovereigns jewellery and Rs40,000 cash. Neighbours realised something was amiss on Wednesday when the inmates, unable to come out of their house raised a hue and cry till others from the locality came to their aid by breaking open the locks on the doors of the five houses.Â
The victims then informed the Gudiyattam town police who registered a case and are on the lookout for
the perpetrators.
