AIADMK upset over ward delimitation in Vellore
The recently-concluded ward delimitation exercise in Vellore Corporation has upset many AIADMK cadre as they allege that the officials have deliberately made certain changes to help the DMK.

It may be recalled that the delimitation process was carried out based on the number of houses per ward and not based on the population, as it used to be. Many ruling party men are planning to register complaints on January 2, the last day for the exercise.
The 60 wards in the Vellore Corporation are divided into four divisions equally. While there are no problems in division one, that includes Katpadi and surrounding areas, the cadre cried foul in other three divisions. “Because we have no strong leader in Vellore, officials have acted according to the demands of DMK MLAs,” said a party source claiming anonymity.
Wards 16 and 17 which were attached to first division are transferred to the fourth division, while wards 59 and 60 come under division one. Similarly, wards 25 and 30 have been shifted to division three from division two. All these changes will favour the DMK, AIADMK sources said.
Replying to the allegations, Anaicut DMK MLA AP Nandakumar said, “We were only consulted and informed that roads and drains were now demarcated as ward boundaries. When the AIADMK is ruling, why should the officials favour us?” he questioned. But AIADMK men were not convinced.
