The assumption of corrupt people, who have accepted the leadership of convicts (in corruption case) and who have been busy climbing court corridors for FERA (Foreign Exchange Regulation Act) violation case, was not only a day dream but also a malicious campaign, Stalin said. He dismissed conspiracy theories that his party had abetted Dinakaran’s victory in RK Nagar as a malicious campaign engaged in by the DMK-baiters.

Asserting that the DMK would analyse the poll-defeat and take actions within and outside for the party to function with renewed vigour, Stalin, in a statement issued here, condemned the spread of “fictitious and malicious” conspiracy theories (about DMK abetting Dinakaran’s victory) at the instigation of oppressive forces. The DMK working president, who took a jibe at Dinakaran and Sasikala a day after constituting an inquiry committee to analyse poll debacle, also said the DMK will not fall for the campaigns of opposition, instead it will put an end to the falsehood spread by people from behind the screen. DMK has also called for a meeting of his high-level strategy committee meeting on Friday, understandably, to discuss the party’s miserable show in RK Nagar.

Meanwhile, the state Congress on Tuesday emulated its alliance leader DMK and constituted a committee to study the rout suffered by the Dravidian major in RK Nagar. state Congress president Su Thirunavukkarasar has constituted a five-member panel headed by state party vice president R Damodaran to ascertain the reasons for its ally DMK candidate Marudhu Ganesh suffering a complete drubbing in RK Nagar by-election.
