DMK transferred its votes to Dinakaran, allege OPS, EPS
Terming TTV Dinakaran’s response to the 2G verdict as a ‘betrayal of Amma,’ party Coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami in a joint statement claimed Dinakaran had received the DMK’s vote share in exchange. “DMK working president MK Stalin had sacrificed DMK’s votes betraying his own party and cadre,” they said.

The two claimed Dinakaran was expelled by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa from the party and pointed out that Dinakaran had expressed happiness over the acquittal of DMK MP Kanimozhi and former Union Minister A Raja in the 2G case. The RK Nagar bypoll result could not be applicable in other constituencies and it is not a reflection of people’s opinion throughout the state. The statement said that the outcome would not cause any setback or slide for the AIADMK and added that it would not split the party.
Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar rejected the possibility of Dinakaran’s victory affecting the state government and said the party would stay united. The government would continue to function in the path shown by Jayalalithaa and take forward her works for people’s welfare, he said.
Cooperative Minister ‘Sellur’ K Raju said the AIADMK only focused its attacks on its rival DMK in the RK Nagar bypoll and said the principal opposition is facing a major crisis now. He also said the party asked positive votes for ‘Two Leaves’ and did not campaign against ‘Pressure cooker.’
