Vishal was summoned to explain as to why SIAA former president R Sarath Kumar and general secretary Radha Ravi were removed from the primary membership of the association last November in violation of an undertaking given to the court on September 22 that no further action would be taken against them.

On appearing before Justice M M Sundresh who had issued the statutory notice, Vishal submitted that the two were removed from the association following a demand from most of the members of the association.

The judge on dispensing with his appearance in future hearings, adjourned the case to January 18 when the hearing in the case will be taken up.

Originally, Vishal and his men were elected as office-bearers of the SIAA during the elections held in 2015. After assuming office, Vishal announced that action will be taken against Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi.

Aggrieved, the duo moved the Madras High Court and on behalf of Vishal, an assurance that no such action will be taken against them, was given. However, the duo was removed from the basic membership of the Association leading to the present contempt application seeking to punish Vishal and others for violating the earlier assurance given to the court.
