Boy rebuked by mother ends life
A 15-year old boy committed suicide allegedly after his mother scolded him and restricted him from playing in Jamin Usilampatti village near Ettayapuram in Thoothukudi district.

The deceased was identified as Muthu Murugaperumal, a Class 10 student at Ilambuvanam Government Higher
Secondary School. On Friday night, he had hanged himself at his house. Police rushed to the spot and carried out investigation. They said that Muthu’s father, Sivaraman was working in Chennai and the boy was staying with his mother Jakkammal.
Muthu was more interested in sports and was not attending the school regularly. After teachers complained about this, Jakkammal had scolded Muthu to focus on studies and stop playing sports. Following this, Muthu ended his life.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
