Stating that he was in the habit of making miniatures of renowned persons and objects, he said, with Christmas around the corner, he decided to carve the miniature Christmas tree. “The tree was made in 24 hours time and has a value of Rs.15, 000. I used around 5.25 grams of gold. I was able to carve the leaves to measure 1cm each,” he added. When asked what inspired him to undertake such a challenging task, the goldsmith said, “I created this miniature tree as I wanted my name to be mentioned in the Limca book of records.” He added that he had earlier made miniatures of political figures, including the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and DMK leader M Karunanaidhi.

“I will decide on which church to give this tree to, in a couple of days” he added.
