3 held for cheating man of Rs 6 lakh

The three, identified as Sundarajan, Vellaisamy and Pandiselvam from Pudukkottai had promised Palanivel (32) of Venkidakulam in Pudukkottai three years ago that they would arrange for the VAO post through TNPSC and demanded Rs 6 lakh. However, they could not secure the post for him, following which, Palanivel demanded that they return his money. However the gang merely kept giving false promises of returning the money. On Wednesday Palanivel lodged a complaint with the District Crime Branch. Based on his complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the trio. Further investigation is on.
