Man poisons 3 kids, commits suicide

Police said Sadiq Basha (45) of Suramangalam, has three children, two girls aged 11 and nine and a seven-year-old boy. While the two girls were born out of his second marriage and the boy was born to his third wife. 

“He was first married to a woman named Poongodi 18 years ago. However, she left him over family squabbles and his second wife then followed suit. His third wife too left him over family issues,” police said.

Depressed over these developments, Sadiq Basha took the extreme step. Neighbours rushed all the four persons to the Salem Government Hospital, however Sadiq Basha died on the way. The three children are undergoing treatment and are in a critical condition. Police are probing the incident.
