Two tourists from Andhra Pradesh drown in sea off Puducherry

According to police, a group of seven youths hailing from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh came to Puducherry on a tour on Tuesday. 

They were bathing in the sea near a restaurant, when Muthu (22), an auto rickshaw driver, and Altaf (22), a building construction worker, were dragged away by swift currents. 

Other members of the group screamed for help and fishermen from a nearby area swung into action and conducted a search for the duo. However, the two could not be traced. As darkness fell, the search was stopped and was likely to resume on Wednesday morning.
