Petitioner told to pay for legal review of Karthi’s film

The movie revolves around the robberies and murders that happened in Chennai from 1995 to 2003 after which the Tamil Nadu police arrested members of Bawaria community in Rajasthan, Haryana and New Delhi. The petitioner stated that the director of the movie had potrayed 235 denotified tribes in badlight, without analysing their history.

So, the screening of the movie should be banned unless the scenes are removed from the movie and 50 per cent of the money collected by the movie should be spent on the welfare measures of denotified tribes, prayed the petitioner.

On heaing the petition, Judge, Mahadevan, said that he cannot pass before seeing the movie and said that as the movie was made at the cost of Rs 6 crore.

Judge also asked the counsel of the petition whether the petitioner is ready to pay Rs 25,000 each for the Advocate Commissioners and adjourned the case on December 5.
