Fresh exodus cancels TTV’s meeting
The meeting of sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran with his supporters from six party districts, including Vellore, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram, scheduled to take place on Wednesday was cancelled at the last minute, thanks to the mass exodus of cadre to the unified AIADMK, led by CM Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy CM O Panneerselvam.

While Dinakaran’s faction informed the media regarding the meeting a few days ago, the equation changed after the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol was allotted to EPS-OPS camp by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The writing on the wall was clear to TTV supporters as they stood no chance of even winning the local body polls without the popular AIADMK symbol.
One of the first to cross over to the ruling camp was former health minister Dr VS Vijay, who along with his supporters, met district strong man and Commercial Taxes Minister KC Veeramani and expressed his support to EPS-OPS faction. Nearly 200 TTV supporters from the Arakkonam, Ranipet, Sholingur and Walajapet areas also joined the EPS-OPS group after a meeting with Veeramani on Thursday.
But, Sholingur MLA NG Parthiban, Gudiyattam MLA Jayanthi Padmanaban, Ambur MLA R Balasubramani continue to support TTV Dinakaran. Meanwhile, Vellore MP B Senguttuvan met EPS recently and joined the ruling camp.
