Police on Tuesday quizzed two youths, who wrote ‘who killed Ragu?’ on the spot where a 32-year-old techie died after his bike rammed into a makeshift arch, on November 25, put up on Avinashi Road for the MGR Centenary celebrations here on November 25.

Varun (26) and Prasanth (27) were picked up by the police for having painted the provocative words on the road, where their friend Raghu met with a tragic end. Police identified them based on the CCTV footage obtained from a camera fixed at the spot on Avinashi Road.
The duo, who confessed to have written it, claimed to have done so out of grief over losing their friend. Police, however, let them go after an inquiry.
“No case has been booked against anyone. They were inquired just to know who wrote so and their motive. Both were let off later,” said a cop attached to the Peelamedu police station.
While there was outpour of grief from public, social activists and netizens put the blame on local administration and the ruling AIADMK entered into a political blame game for the tragic event.
However, police maintained that the youth was only knocked down by a lorry driven in the wrong direction and that his bike did not crash into the arch put up on the road.
