3 TTV Dinakaran MPs cross over to ruling camp
The impact of the Election Commission verdict on ‘Two Leaves’ was visible on Monday when three MPs belonging to sidelined leader TTV Dinakaran’s camp switched to the ruling camp, dealing a major blow to the leader.
Chennai
MPs Vigila Sathyanand, Navaneethakrishnan from Tamil Nadu and Gokula Krishnan from Puducherry met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and took part in the meeting conducted by him at his residence with the functionaries from five districts. Partymen from Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore and Tiruvannamalai participated in the consultations regarding arrangements to be made for Jayalalithaa’s death anniversary on December 5.
After the stamp of official party had gone to the ruling group, the MPs may lose their posts if the parent organisation gives a complaint to disqualify them. Their defection is seen as a move to safeguard their posts.
