3 men held with stolen panchaloha idols
Police arrested three persons and seized two panchaloha idols from them in Coimbatore on Friday.

A police team led by Peelamedu Sub Inspector R Rajeswari picked three persons identified as N Chandrasekaran from SITRA, Sibu Balachandran from Kerala and Jayapandian from Edayarpalayam on suspicion, at Brindavan Nagar.
Inquiries revealed that they were in possession of two bags, which had two panchaloha idols of goddesses, copper vessels, copper bangles, old conch, brass ring, watches and a few more items.
Investigation revealed that they also had antique idols and items stolen from temples. Police have booked them under various sections for theft and Antiquities and Art Treasures Act 1972.
Further enquiries are on to know if they were part of a larger racket and from where the idols were stolen.
