Assembly Secretariat sources said that the file pertaining to the salary revision for legislators has been cleared and it will be tabled before the House for ratification, and government sources said that they would expedite the sanction for MLACDS.
A copy of the salary certificate of legislators dated November 1 for the month of October is available with DT Next, and the salary drawn was mentioned as Rs 55,000.
Sources said some of the ruling party MLAs had approached the AIADMK top brass to know when the revised salaries would be credited. They were informed that the government was already working on it and the revision would happen only when the necessary amendment was made by the Assembly.
Some of the MLAs had submitted MLACDS proposals to the revised amount of Rs 2.5 crore, but were asked to wait for the administrative sanction which must come from the government.
