Jaya TV, newspaper sing DMK tune: Jayakumar

“Dr Namadhu MGR daily and Jaya TV, controlled by VK Sasikala’s clan, are morphing into Murasoli and Kalaignar TV, the official mouthpiece of the DMK, post the death of former CM J Jayalalithaa,” said Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar on Tuesday.

The Minister wondered as to how Jaya TV can telecast the interview of Duraimurugan, who is the Deputy Leader of Opposition and Principal Headquarter secretary of the DMK.

“It is this Duraimurugan, who defamed Jayalalithaa in the Assembly and inviting him over for an interview and telecasting it in Jaya TV shows the extent to which the family had gone to. This stands testimony to their rapport they enjoy with the arch-rival DMK, and their decision to being frontrunner in promoting anti-Jaya activities,” Jayakumar said.

Incidentally, Dr Namadhu MGR had on Tuesday published a news item of the Centre planning to dissolve the state government.

The piece went on to say that the Centre is privy to the shady corrupt deals of the cabinet members and as many as 23 Ministers are under their radar and that the Centre was planning to take them down in one go.

It attributed the recent appointment of a senior bureaucrat to assist the Governor. A similar tactic was employed while the Centre dissolved the DMK government in 1976.

On the Coast Guard personnel opening fire at Rameswaram fishermen, the Minister maintained that only the two concerned parties were privy to the information of what had transpired at mid-sea.

“The fishermen had lodged a complaint with the Marine Police and the same is under investigation. The entire episode would be subjected to probe. The entirety of the incident would emerge only on completion of the probe,” he said.
