Dad-son duo awarded 7-year imprisonment for sexually abusing a 12-year-old-girl
The Pudukkottai Mahila Court on Friday awarded seven-year imprisonment to a father-son duo of Pudukkottai town who were arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for sexually abusing a 12-year-old-girl.

On July 3, 2015, Durai (55) and his son Prakash (24) of Karamajapuram in Pudukkottai had sexually assaulted the 12-year-old-girl from their neighbourhood. When the girl narrated the incident to her parents, they lodged a complaint against the duo in All Women Police Station (AWPS). The police registered a case under POCSO and arrested the duo. The case was under progress in the Mahila Court and on Friday, judge A Liyakath Ali awarded seven-year imprisonment on the duo and imposed a fine of Rs 2000 on each of them.
