Repair faulty streetlights, says MLA

DMK MLA N Karthik on Monday petitioned Corporation Commissioner K Vijayakarthikeyan on the issue of faulty streetlights and ill-maintained parks in Coimbatore.

The MLA said that street lights, particularly the solar lights installed using MLA funds were not maintained properly. “About 20,000 streetlights do not burn. Though the civic body pays a hefty amount to contractors as maintenance charges, the streetlights have not been repaired for a long time,”

he said.

The legislator also said urged the civic body to spruce up parks that have not been maintained well.
