Sellur K Raju to take action against Kamal Haasan
The minister who inspected the flood relief and drainage works in Tondiarpet, denied the charge of Leader of Opposition MK Stalin that Rs 1,500 crore sought by the state government from the Centre for flood relief works would be for the purpose of swindling.

A day after actor Kamal Haasan announced that he would undertake a state-wide tour in January, co-operative minister Sellur K Raju, on Wednesday said, anyone is welcome to meet the people and added that the state government would take necessary action if the actor conveyed the grievances of people.
The minister who inspected the flood relief and drainage works in Tondiarpet, denied the charge of Leader of Opposition MK Stalin that Rs 1,500 crore sought by the state government from the Centre for flood relief works would be for the purpose of swindling.Â
The minister said Stalin had spoken in an irresponsible manner and pointed out that when the Centre allocated funds the state government’s spending would be subjected to auditing. He also questioned on how Stalin had served as a deputy Chief Minister without knowing that the spending of Centre’s funds would be subjected to auditing. Â
He said Stalin was finding fault with everything that the state government did and added that the government would continue its good work for the people despite such charges. Minister D Jayakumar, who spoke to the media at his residence, said the state government is working on a war footing to clear the water stagnation and repair the pot holes in the damaged roads.Â
Revenue minister RB Udhyakumar also inspected the waterlogged areas in Tiruvottiyur. Rural industries minister P Benjamin visited the affected areas in Madhavaram.
